EPISODE #73: Not Your Typical Parenting Strategies

In this episode, we are chatting about prioritizing our efforts, keeping busy and meeting our kids and the people we love and support where they are at and without so many assumptions and blame. We will discuss how important prevention efforts are, but also, how important it is to just be helpful no matter what the diagnosis is or what caused it. If parents and providers can do a better job identifying when people are struggling with some things that are legitimately more difficult for them to manage, then we can be more helpful and supportive.

When we know better, we can do better.

Please bring this conversation home to your kitchen tables. Angela is also sharing that her practice is growing, and things are getting busier so the podcast may slow down to every other week or once a month. It's all about balance and making sure you can focus on the things that are in line with your values.

Right now, helping families directly and contributing to system capacity are the most important things she feels she needs to do. Families are in urgent need for CND/FASD informed therapists and she and her team are honoured to do this work. Check out our website for a new resource called "Not Your Typical Parenting Guide" and to connect with us for support.

Thanks for sharing and walking alongside us here!
